Prince William has given a brief update on Princess Kate’s health months after she revealed her devastating cancer diagnosis.

The 41-year-old royal was greeting members of the public when he was asked a question about his wife by 60-year-old Julie Cain outside the James’ Place centre.

“Do you mind if I ask how your wife and children are?” Ms Cain said.

The royal replied: “All doing well, thank you. Yes, we’re doing well.”

The update comes as a source close to Princess Kate revealed the couple were struggling to deal with the illness.

Amaia Arrieta, the designer of the clothing worn by the royal children, said the couple are “going through hell” but are maintaining a brave face for their kids — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and six-year-old Prince Louis.

“I’m heartbroken at the moment, I think they are going through hell,” Arrieta said.

“I hope they will be back. It’s really personal.”

Shortly after her friend’s diagnosis, the designer posted a message of support from the brand’s Instagram page.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Princess of Wales and her family as she bravely faces cancer and undergoes preventive chemotherapy,” she captioned the post.

“We stand in solidarity with her, offering our support, strength, and unwavering hope for her well-being and recovery. ”

Kate is currently undergoing preventative treatment after announcing in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer.

The announcement came after months of speculation about her health and whereabouts following major abdominal surgery.
